only是引导与前面并列的一个成分：not A，ony B。这种用法不需要用 and 连接。

When they are deleted the sense is not diminished, only clarified.

这个用法，跟 not..., but....十分类似。

Tom is not delighted, only excited.   汤姆并不高兴，只是兴奋。（另外一种情绪）

Tom is not delighted, but sad.  汤姆不是高兴，而是伤心。（反向情绪对比）
