rather then 的错误用法问题

rather then 这个错误的用法为何使用频率这么高，还都出现在福布斯这样的英文杂志上？

在COCA搜索了一下，rather then的频率竟然有438:

请问：这是什么现象呢？单纯的误用吗？

网友所言极是，我搜索了一下，确实是 438 例；而 rather than 是122196 例。严格说，这是“误拼”，不是“误用”。误拼的原因可能是：than 的读音可以是 [ðæn]，也可以是、而且经常被弱读为 [ðən]。因此，than 被误拼为 then。

拼写错误而已。如果你问犯这个错误的人，到底应该是than还是then? 你可以想象他会怎么回答的。你作为读者遇到这种情况，只需淡然一笑而已。

如果搜索forbes网站的话，会发现

用rather then的数量是170条

用rather than的数量是11600条

目前还没达到你说的“现象”级别。
