这里的on earth不能用on the earth。

on the earth表示“地球上”有时也用on earth，但多为大写的on Earth。例如：

We live on the earth.我们生活在地球上。

We have fossil fuel on Earth. 我们地球上有化石燃料。

使用on earth时通常要注意以下几点。（你的问题属第2点）

1.如果表示“陆地上，地面上”，和“天空”（sky）“天”（heaven）相对，冠词可有可无。例如：
