第一个问题：

faculty：指“大学的教职员工；师资队伍”，是个集合名词。

join the faculty：加入到上述行列中来。

这里用 at 不用 of，表示“就职于某大学”，不要按照中国人的思维，你在哪里工作就属于哪里的人，不要理解为“所属关系”。西方强调人和工作单位是“服务就职和雇佣关系”，所以用 at。

又如：

He is a member of the faculty at a college or university.

他是学院或大学的教员。

There is a direct link between the cultural achievements of Athens and what the faculty at this university is all about.

a shift in：在......方面的转变。

in 表示“方面” 是很经常的用法，不可以改为 of。又如：

That move reflects a shift in the traditional development paradigm, says Varma. 

这项行动反映了传统发展模式的转变，Varma说。

There has also been a shift in the role of the company secretary.
