I had intended to call on you. 和 I intended to have called on you.

I intended to have called on you, but was prevented from doing so. I intended to have called on you 就够了,不必说后面的 but was prevented from doing so.

I expected to have met him here last night.

We meant to have stayed there a week.(我们原打算在那里呆一个礼拜的。)

I wanted to have seen you ever so much.

I thought to have written a line to her, but forgot to do so.

We were to have met at six o'clock.

but I was too busy.

所以, had intended to do 和 intended to have done 没有区别,含义都是“本来打算 (而实际上未实现)”。

I intended to have called on you ... =  I had intended to call on you ...
