请问下 动名词going by bus 和staying at home在下面两句中作什么句子成分?状语还是补语?

1. You'd be better going by bus.

2. The weather was so bad we'd have been better off staying at home.

be better off 为习语,有二个意思,a. 更为富裕的,富裕的;b. 情况更好。

网友以下二句中均为第二个意思,即情况会好些,会更好。doing形式在这里不是动名词,而是现在分词作状语。如果be前有will/would, 则现在分词为条件状语,即做分词的动作会更好一些。如果be为一般过去时,则现在分词为原因状语。

1  You'd be better off going by bus. 你乘公交会更好些。分词作条件状语

2  The weather was so bad we'd have been better off staying at home. 天气这么糟。我们当初要是呆在家里就好了。分词作虚拟条件状语。


I was better off going alone. 我自己一个人去反而更自在。原因状语。
