房子的窗户是用介词in还是of

如果要表示墙上的洞，通常是用介词 in 的。如：

The prisoner escaped through a hole in the wall. 那囚犯从墙上的缺口处逃走了。

We used a picture to cover up a hole in the wall. 我们用一幅画盖住了墙上的洞。

但如果要表示房子的窗户呢？用什么介词？是介词 in 还是 of？谢谢解答！

我觉得用介词 in 和 of 都可以。例如：

The windows of the house are broken. 房子的窗户破了。（摘自[英]斯旺编著《英语用法指南》第一版）

All the windows in the house are closed. 房子所有的窗户都关上了。（摘自《韦氏高阶英语词典》）

但是，如果是用于 there be 句式，则通常是用介词 in。例如：

There were two windows in the room. It was very warm, so I opened them.

There was no window in the room, and no other (means of) ventilation.

用on亦可，如：

The English Language is a window on the world.

当然，这和房子没有关系。
