英语中，有一种特殊的表达方式：“a + 名词  of  a + 名词”。也叫比喻修辞格。

of 前后各有一个“a + 名词”，前面的名词具有描写作用，形容后面名词的某种特征，或者表示具有多大的程度，用来强调某种语气。翻译时，把 of 后的名词视为中心词，前面的名词视为比喻修饰语。

例如：

a fool of a man（一个呆子似的男人）

a boy of a girl （女汉子）

a lamb of a temper（像羔羊一样温顺的脾气）

a mountain of a wave（一座高山似的海浪）

an angel of a wife.（一个天使般的妻子）

a kitten of a girl（像小猫般温顺的一个姑娘）

a devil of a job （一项艰巨的任务）

a hell of a fight （一场艰苦的战斗）

(a hell of a fight = quite a fight  In informal English, some people use “a hell of” to emphasize that something is very good, very bad, or very big.)

He has an angel of a wife who is very particular about food. 

他有一个天使般的妻子，但对饮食很挑剔。

It was opened by a small barrel of a woman.

It's a devil of a problem, isn't it?
