句末不定式要不要加代词作宾语的问题
The damage was such that it would cost thousands to repair it.
想问下，这个repair 后面要不要加 it， 为什么？

第一个 it 是形式主语，不是指 damage。第二个 it 才是指 damage，所以 repair 缺少宾语，必须有 it。
我举两个要不要 it 都对的句子：
It is difficult to repair.
