新编英语语法教程中, 说有的介词意义上等于that 从句:

Did anyone inform you of the change of the plans?

=Did anyone inform you that the plans had been changed?

是做状语吗? 因为that是宾语,构成双宾, of the change of the plans是状语吗? 什么状语呢?

新编英语语法教程这样说，其实没有意义。of 怎么能等于 that 从句呢？

这仅仅是碰巧的一个个例。不是规则，也没有代表性。inform sb. 是“通知某人”，这里 of 引出 “告知” 的内容，相当于 about。 碰巧，inform 可以接that 从句引出的直接宾语：inform sb. that...，这属于“误打误撞”。

这里，of the change of the plans 是“状语”，意为“有关某事”，of = about。

1. inform 的基本意思是 “通知,告知”, 用作及物动词时, 接名词或代词作宾语, 也可接双宾语, 其直接宾语可由带疑问词的动词不定式或that/wh-从句充当。

【注】inform 后面的直接宾语不能是名词或代词，不能说：

He has informed me his new address.

这个句子是错误的，应在his new address 前加介词of。

2. inform 后可加宾语再接 that 引导从句，但不能直接跟 that 引导从句。

I have to inform that I have removed to the above given address.
