if 从句中到底该用some(thing)/any(thing)

请问下列不定代词如何选择:

The polic haven't confirmed if the man has _______ to do with the murder.

A. something   B. anything

在一般疑问句中,用 have something to do with... 和 have anything to do with...,都可以使用,但有区别,见下面的例句。这体现出说话人的口气。

if (= whether) 引导的间接疑问句,同样适合上述规则。用 something 或 anyrhing 均可。我们作一比较:

这事跟我有关吗?

1. Did it have anything to do with me? 

2. Did it have something to do with me?

句1,实际表示 “这事跟我无关”。带有反问的口吻。

句2,表示 “我不清楚这事是否跟我有关”。

但就网友句子的语境而言,应该选择 something。说明警方对此事处于疑问中。

The police haven't confirmed if the man has something to do with the murder.

   have something to do with [vt] 与 ... 有关,与 ... 有关联 / It seems to me that this has something to do with what you said before. 我觉得这和你从前所说的有点关系。

【用法】疑问句用 have anything to do with; 否定句用 have nothing  [ do not have anything ] to do with

Does crime have anything to do with the social environment of criminals ? 犯罪和犯罪者的社会环境有关系吗? That has nothing to do with you. 那和你毫无关系。
