on (the) one hand…on the other hand

‍中文中说“一方面……另一方面……”，用英语来表示就是 on (the) one hand…on the other hand，这当中有两个定冠词，当然第二个定冠词是肯定不能省略的，这是众所周知的；但第一个定冠词可以省略吗？感觉用 on one hand 读起来还顺口一些。请专家老师分析指点一下，谢谢！

on the one hand 中的冠词可省可不省。如：

On the one hand I admire his gifts, but on the other I distrust his judgment. 一方面我羡慕他的才华, 而另一方面我却怀疑他的判断力。《现代汉英综合大词典》

He has been criticized on one hand and encouraged on the other. 他一方面受到批评,另一方面却受到鼓励。《柯林斯高阶英汉双解学习词典》

如果 on the one hand 和 on the other hand 搭配使用，one 前面的 the 和 other 后面的 hand 可省可不省。如：
On (the) one hand I'm happy to be her boyfriend, but on the other (hand) I want to be free from taking care of her. 一方面，我很高兴成为她的男朋友，另一方面我又不想照顾她。（《外研社英汉多功能词典》p.953）
