a most 和 the most 的区别

a most 和 the most 都见到过，它们为什么一个用不定冠词，一个用定冠词？

老师说这与语境有关，不明白与什么语境有关。请老师指点，谢谢！

a most +形容词：其中的most相当于very；the most + 形容词：则是最高级用法。比较：

She was a most kind teacher. 她是位非常友善的老师。

She was the most kind teacher. 她是最友善的老师。

再举几例 a most...的用法：

It was a most touching scene. 那是极其动人的场面。

She is a most mysterious person. 她是一个非常神秘的人。

It’s a most boring book. 这是一本非常枯燥乏味的书。

Thank you for a most interesting afternoon. 这个下午过得非常有意恩，谢谢你。

My grandfather was a most extraordinary man. 我的祖父是个非常特别的人。

1. “a most +形容词+可数名词单数形式”中的most是加强语，相当于very或extremely（非常；很；极）。例句略。

2. “the most + 形容词+（名词）” 中的most一般是构成形容词最高级的用法（例句略）。但是，有时却是加强语，相当于very或extremely（非常；很；极）。例如，英国著名的CGEL（汉译书名是《英语语法大全》）的作者们认为“现在有一种趋势，使用带定冠词的 most 来进行加强”，该书对下面一句中的“the most beautiful woman”解释是“a most beautiful woman”,“an extremely beautiful woman”：

Isn't she the most beautiful woman ?
