并列结构的省略规律

这句话涉及并列句的省略，在heavens后面省略了was composed，这是怎么判断出来的？

并列句后一分句省略的成分可以从前一分句还原。the earth 对应 the heavens, of four elements 对应 of crystalline material. 再根据逻辑地球和天堂分别由...组成，自然就知道后一分句省略了什么。

一般是考虑对称省略。

如 In a way, I think we both won: I the game, but cousin Ed my respect.

这是种语法现象ellipsis。见个几次就有感觉，个人经验是往前一个句子找找缺少的成分，就可以判断出来了。
