It is simple enough to say that since books have classes fiction, biography, poetry—we should separate them and take from each what it is right that each should give us.
what it is right that each should give us.
Virginia Woolf
Since books have classes—fiction, biography, poetry—we should separate them and take from each what it is right that each should give us.
这里不可能是强调句,“it is what right that”... / it is right that what each should give us. ...
估计这个it 与“as is known”/"as it is known" 里面的那个it类似,好像钱歌川老先生对这个it有所谈论,但他那本书(什么疑难? as is known无疑是正确的,但as it is known为什么会出现?what is right也肯定是正确的,但我们不能认为多个it就是伍尔芙的笔误之类。
