The policeman pulled out a gun and fired into the air, then he turned around and walked towards the door.

表示“之后，然后”then之前应加and，但在口语或非正式文体中and有时候被省略。例如：

then没有连词用法。作“然后”解时，应该另起一句，或者前面用分号或加and。但实际应用中，你会遇到二个句子被then连接，形成所谓的逗号句。作为英语学习者，应该避免逗号句。
