关于equip with的用法

She was equipped with knowledge for the vocation.

她具备从事这项职业的知识。

equip with有“备有……”，“以……为装备”的意思，那么，请问equip with 可以替换句子中的 was equipped with，句子意思保持不变吗？像这样：She equip with knowledge for the vocation.

我觉得这个问题的根源在于，你没搞清楚这个句子到底该用什么语态。

语态分为两种，一种是主动语态，一种是被动语态。你随便翻开一本语法书，找到语态这一章节就能发现，里面列举了许多主动表被动含义的情形，比如：wash、write、sell、lock等，可以背一下，这种经常在单选题里面考。

至于你举的equip这个词，你用中文释义来判断它在句子中适用哪个语态，这非常容易混淆。我读高中时就在这上面纠结过。我给你看下柯林斯词典上的英文释义：

If you equip a person or thing with something, you give them the tools or equipment that are needed. 装备; 配备

例句： They try to equip their vehicles with gadgets to deal with every possible contingency. equip a person or thing with something

这才是英文词典上的标准用法，把它转变一下就是 a person or thing is equipped with sth

在确定动词到底该用什么语态好时，千万不要以中文释义为标准，因为这都是其他人为了方便理解标注的，他们不会考虑到这个释义对动词语态的选择

若用主动形式，可考虑用 equip oneself with，如下面两句意思大致相同：

She was equipped with knowledge for the vocation.

She equipped herself with knowledge for the vocation.

注意：用于此义的 equip 是及物动词，其后不能没有宾语。

类似的用法如 be devoted to = devote oneself to 等。
