这里they learned 后面为什么用了逗号呢 ？那后面还算是宾语从句吗

这种结构就是所谓的自由间接引语。learned在此是”听说“的意思。
They learned that because of the Great Lakes, Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world. 间接引语。主句为引述分句，引语为从句。说话人强调主句即”听说“这个动作，为主要信息。
Because of the Great Lakes，they learned，Canada has more fresh water than any other country in the world. 自由间接引语。引语作了主句，引述分句以插入语的形式出现。说话人强调引语（主句）。引述分句附带说明，为次要信息。
引述分句还可以放在句末：
