Is that cake for eating or just for looking at?

2. 用 for doing 放在名词之后作定语:a pool for swimming

a sleeping car → a car for sleeping

即 a swimming pool = a pool for swimming.

因为不能说 a eating cake, a looking cake.

Is that cake for one to eat or just to look at?

It is for one to look at, not to eat.
