more...than...能搭配名词吗

看到如下句子：

Such calculations are more art than science.

我知道，more + adj 。为什么这个句子能more + 名词？

这是more + A + than + B的一个特殊的比较句式，表示“与其说是B，还不如说是A”，常连接两个名词、形容词、副词、介词短语等。例如：

She is more a writer than a scholar. 与其说她是学者，不如说她是作家。

He is more mad than brave. 与其说他勇敢，不如说他疯了。(more mad不可改为madder)

He drove more steadily than slowly. 与其说他车开得慢，不如说他开得稳。

He's more like a spear than (like) anything else. 与其说他（指大象）像别的什么东西，不如说他像一根梭镖。

more A than B 与其说是B，倒不如说是A/是A不是B（取A舍B)

备注：以上结构属于取舍关系比较结构，A和B可以是形容词也可以是名词。

(1)主语+be+more+形容词(1) than +形容词(2)（取1舍2）

He is more bold than strong.

与其说他刚强,不如说他大胆。

He is more dead than alive.

与其说他还活在人世，不如说他是行尸走肉。

She is more shy than unsocial.

她是害羞而不是不爱交际。

The boy is more diligent than clever.

与其说这男孩聪明，不如说他勤奋。
