关于间接引语

1.The gardener said that he ___(cut) that tree down yesterday.

2.What did he say that he_____(do) last weekend?

第一题答案给的是had cut/cut,第二题是had down/would down

不明白为什么第一题既可以用过去完成时也可以用过去时，而第二题只能用过去完成时；

如果第二题的do换成其他动词是否可以用过去时；

第一题是否也可以用would cut

本句用cut 或had cut，都对。

首先明确：yesterday 是宾语从句的时间状语，不是修饰said 的。

用cut 是参照yesterday，说明过去的一个动作；用had cut 是参照said，说明早于主句谓语动词said。

2.What did he say that he_____(do) last weekend?

这个句子要视said 发生的时间，决定宾语从句do 的时态，切不可用现在的时间去判断do 的时态。

如果他说的时间早于last weekend（如上周一），用would do。

如果他说的时间晚于last weekend（如本周一），用had done。

所以，两个答案都可以填。

解析：

(1)填cut是因为宾语从句有表示特定的过去时间状语yesterday

(2)填had cut是因为参照主句谓语动词时间，因为是在主句谓语动词动作之前发生的

(1)填did是因为宾语从句有表示特定的过去时间状语last weekend

(2)填had done是因为参照插入语谓语动词时间，因为是插入语谓语动词动作之前发生的

备注:如果把时间状语last weekend改为“next weekend”只能填“would do过去将来时态”
