if引导的应该是条件状语从句，后半句整句为比较状语从句, 这里的句式为：

A is much higher than B (if...)

A: 指these numbers，即当前得到的数据；

B: 在原文中被省略，指被比较的数据，即假设people try without support情况下得到的数据；

字面意思：当前数据比在无人支持情况下得到的数据高出很多。
