说的简捷一点，就是：

1. nine hundred 既可以作“定语”，也具有“代词”用法，所以：

nine hundred students （正）

nine hundred of the students （正）

2. hundreds of 只可作“定语”，没有“代词”用法，所以：

hundreds of students （正）

hundreds of the students （误）

3. some, many 的用法跟nine hundred 用法相同。所以：

some/many students （正）

some/many of the students （正）

关于网友这个问题涉及到代词和形容词/限定词区别用法，我用最简单方法告诉你。

(1)X+of+the/one's+名词复数/不可数名词单数/宾格代词，这个结构中，X必须为代词/数词。
