zero articles（零冠词）的语法分析

英语语法书上有时说零冠词（即不用定冠词或不定冠词），我见它的英语是 zero articles，可以用 zero article 吗？另外，zero articles 中的 zero 是什么词性？数词还是形容词？

zero articles 中的 zero 是形容词。作为语法术语的“零冠词”，有三种表达: zero article, the zero article, zero articles。比如英文版的《英语语法大全》（夸克等人著）就在书中出现过这三种表达。以下各例均摘自该书：

一、“零冠词”是一个语法术语，应该使用单数：zero article。

这个单词在句子使用中，应加定冠词，因为zero 作定语，article 是可数名词，可数名词的单数出现在句中，需加冠词。

【注意】这个术语叫“零冠词”，但它是个名词词组，这个术语在句中使用时不能是零冠词。

例如：

This paper attempts to give an analysis of the form and functions of the zero article, based on the functional grammar.

本文从功能语法的角度分析了零冠词的形式及其语法意义。

（the + 单数名词：表示类别，语法术语“零冠词”也是一个类别。）

二、这里zero 作定语，是形容词，词典和语法书都没有把它列为数词。意为“零的；为零的”，继续引申是“没有的；全无的”。zero article 中的zero 就是第一种意思。
