（一）make sure 的结构和意义分析：

make是“使令性”动词，意思是“使、让”；sure是形容词，意为“可靠的；稳当的；稳妥的；有把握的，万无一失的”。

其实，make是有宾语的，sure是宾补。它的宾语就是后面的that从句。意思是说“让that从句里面说的事情做到万无一失。”，因此，我们翻译成“确保”之意。这个用法现在已经成为习语，就这样使用了。对初学者来说，不必详细划分，知道这个词组的来历和含义就行了。

（二）make sure 后面that 从句的时态：

如果是现在时，或者祈使句原形，that从句的时态应该使用现在时间范畴的时态，例如：一般现在时，现在进行时，一般将来时等。由于that从句都是尚未发生的事情，所以不用过去时。例如：

（四）关于make sure of，这个词组of 是介词，后接名词、代词或动名词，它有3层意思：

第一句多了一个of，显然是为了朗读上口。如果说：Let go the rope. 就不自然。

关于make sure（of/that）,make certain（of/that）动词加形容词

这种动词加形容词作宾语的结构如何解释呢？

make sure后面如果接名词/代词/动名词作宾语，必须加介词of进行过渡，如果接that宾语从句则不要，因为that从句的名词特性不彻底，因此接that从句不需要加介词of。

(1)I am sure that I will succeed.

我确信我会成功。

(2)I am sure of my success.

我对成功很有把我。
