Like most people, I ve long understood that I will be judged by my occupation ,that my profession is a gauge people use to see how smart or talented I am. 第二个that前面是不是应该有and ,谢谢！

这两个that从句并不是并列关系，第二个that从句是对第一个that从句的解释，可以理解第二个that从句相当于一个原因状语从句修饰第一个that从句，that可以用because替换。

第2个that是对第1个that从句语气较弱的一个原因说明。可以看作前面省略介词in ，即in that 因为
