应该要改为：I had to wait a few minutes longer

I had to wait a few more minutes.(more表示再，又的意思）

=I had to wait another a few minutes

数词+more+名词复数=another+数词+名词复数

They needed five more people to help to finish the work.

=They need another five people to help to finish the work

他们还需要五个人去帮助完成这项工作。
