the majority of 和 a majority of 是否可以互换

看到网上的一篇语法填空题，里面出现了这个，有一篇答案认为 a 和 the 都可以，一篇只给了 the，所以挺疑惑的，到底是用 the 还是 a ，还是可以互换呢？
