网友对句子结构的理解是错误的。

本句中for不是连词，而是介词，后接动名词短语failing to disclose gifts作宾语，for介词短语是trial的定语。trial of somebody for doing something. 因某事而对某人进行审判。

这个句子是so+形容词+that结果状语从句结构。
