1. 只能用作表语的形容词不能用very修饰。如：

2.无比较等级的形容词不能用very修饰。如：

It made her completely blind and deaf. 这一经历使她完全的失明和失聪。

Cosgrave's forecast turned out to be quite wrong. 科斯格雷夫的预测最后证明是大错特错。

His critically sick mother was nearly dead.他病重的母亲快不行了。

3. 被动语态的过去分词不能用very修饰。如：

His health is much improved since he gave up smoking. 他自戒烟以来，健康状况大大改善了。

I was greatly touched by what you told me. 你对我讲的话使我大受感动。

......

▲ 如果过去分词已完全容词化则可以被very修饰。如：

The story is very complicated. 故事情节复杂。

Right now I'm feeling very excited. 现在，我觉得非常激动。
