You can certainly say dad gives my welfare his constant attention. Sometimes, however, I wish he wouldn’t try quite so hard. To be frank, he seems to have a talent for embarrassing me. He should know better than that, but he never seems to learn and just goes on making the same old mistakes repeatedly. The result is that I live in constant dread of his well intentioned interference in my affairs. Overall, though, he is a wonderful dad and I assure you I wouldn’t exchange him for anyone in the world.

3.   最后一句的would， 虽然用在一般现在时态，但是表示的是“提出想法”的含义？请教老师，would此处用法？
