all, very表示程度时的区别

very 是表示程度的，这是众所周知的。但有这样一句：

He was all excited about his girlfriend’s coming.

有人说这里的 all 表示程度。请问这是对的吗？若是，它与very有区别吗？

网友句子中的 all 确实表示程度，但主要用于非正式英语，与 very 同义，但不如very 正式。如：

Bill is all friendly with Ben. 比尔对本非常友好。

He was all interested in the opposite sex. 他对异性很感兴趣。

He is all ill and unlikely to recover. 他的病很重，不大可能会康复了。

In such a close-run race as this election, the campaign becomes all important. 在这种势均力敌的选举中，竞选活动至关重要。

比较：

He was all excited about the trip. 他对这次旅行很激动。

We were all excited about the trip. 没有上下文有两个意思：

(1) 我们都对这次旅行很激动。（把 all 理解为 we 的同位语）

(2) 我们对这次旅行非常激动。（把 all 理解为副词 very 的意思）

very是程度副词，用于可分级形容词或副词之前，表示程度。all作为副词不是程度副词，而是强调副词，用于形容词、副词、介词、连词前表示强调，等于completely。语法上为强调语。

I’m all in favour of giving children more freedom.

Now we’re going to be late, and it’s all because of you.

He started to get all excited when I told him Cynthia was coming.
