the way 表示“方式”，后面可以接定语从句。关于它的用法，我给做一个演绎：

We would not behave in the way in which you did. （基本不用）

= We would not behave in the way that you did. （比较常用）

= We would not behave the way that you did. （比较常用）

= We would not behave the way you did. （最常用）

= We would not behave as you did. （最简练）
