通常there存在句的主谓一致使用就近原则，但不排除有些人坚持语法一致原则，当主语为and并列的主语时，谓语用复数。还有人认为there是形式主语，尽管后接的名词为复数，也用is。例如：There is two books on the desk. 不过多数人认为这是非正式的用法。目前最常用的还是就近原则。另外，a knife and fork在西餐中被视为一套餐具，作主语时本来就多用单数谓语。网友自己写句子按照就近原则就是了。
