词典释义中N-SING和不可数名词的区别（涉及spirit）

刚才查spirit，看到如下释义

N-SING Your spirit is the part of you that is not physical and that consists of your character and feelings

在这里，N-SING应该是指“在此种意思下只能用单数表示”，但是它此时到底算可数名词还是不可数名词？另外，N-SING和不可数名词的用法好像是一样的，为什么要加以区别呢？

主要的区别还是单数名词必须有限定词限定，如your, a，the等。现代语法提出了零冠词的概念，而单数名词不可以用零冠词。不可数名词则既可以用定冠词，也可以用零冠词（传统语法叫不用冠词）。

“N-SING”与“不可数名词”的区别在于：不可数名词不能连用不定冠词，但N-SING表示这样的名词既可用作不可数名词，但也可以连用不定冠词。如柯林斯词典中的 admixture 为例：
