3 where引导的定语从句后接倒装句的用法
有这样一个句子：
He lived at the foot of a mountain, where stood a big tower.
有的人认为是这个句子是错的，也有的人认为这是对的。
认为是对的人说，where后面是一个倒装句。
但认为是错的人说，没有哪本书上有这样的倒装句。
请问专家，这个句子算对吗？若对，书上有这样的例子来说明一下吗？

这个句子应该是正确的，因为它符合完全倒装句的使用原则。
其实只要理解了简单句的完全倒装，就可以理解为什么这个定语从句要倒装。不需要在词典或语法书中找到一定的例句。
完全倒装句不同于部分倒装句。部分倒装句的信息中心在句首，属于为了突出重要的信息而将其前置，操作词也前移到主语之前。
完全倒装句不同，是主语后移至句末的信息中心位置。导致主语后移的原因有二：1 主语结构复杂，比较长，而谓语通常为不及物动词。2 主语是新信息，需要强调。因此当表示位置或方向的状语（副词或介词短语）位于句首时，动词不及物，主语为名词（新信息），则主语后移到谓语之后，突出主语这个新信息。例如：
The temple stands in front of the village. 这句话中，the temple特指，在前文已经提及，是已知信息。因此，句子采用正常语序。
如果我们要介绍一个地方，讲到村庄前有一个庙宇。这个庙宇属于首次提到，是个新信息，而新信息不适合作主语。因此采用倒装结构，让新信息位于句末的信息中心位置：
In front of the village stands a temple.
又比如我们描述我们去一个村庄，在村口有一个庙。我们可以说：
We finally arrived at the village, and in front of it stood a temple.
这是一个并列句，and连接同等重要的信息结构。但我们的重点是想介绍村子，庙宇只是附带提及。我们不愿意让它过多分散读者的注意力，我们就用关系代词which取代人称代词it，删去and. 我们就得到一个非限制性定语从句，表示一个次要信息。（尽管在这个次要信息内部，temple还是个新信息。）
We finally arrived at the village, in frond of which stood a temple.
这就和网友的句子十分相似了，不同的只是这里是介词短语作从句的地点状语，而网友的句子是关系副词作地点状语。定语从句的倒装并没有违反完全倒装句的原则，因此这个倒装无可非议。没有必要在语法书找相似的例句。

【答】毫无疑问，这个句子是正确的。既然where 代替at the foot of a mountain，那么，这个句子就没有问题：At the foot of a mountain stood a big tower.
不单在定语从句中可以这样倒装，而在状语从句中也可以。
