这两个句子均为一般现在时态，因此句中的状语不是持续时间状语。而是类似于always，sometimes之类的频度状语。如果谓语是动态动词，则为习惯意义，状语表示事件重复的频繁程度。如果谓语是静态动词，则表示某状态出现/呈现或存在的几率。

第一句可以和下一句对比：

We always stay in one place in (the) winter.

我们冬天总是呆在一个地方。（不是说某一年的冬天，而是谈论每年的冬天）

So we stay in one place most of the winter.

所以，多数情况下，我们冬天就呆在一个地方。

如果句子的谓语改为一般过去时，则有歧义：
