1.sorry表示为某人难过（或惋惜）时，接用for。如：

I feel sorry for that poor woman; she has had more than her fair share of troubles. 我为那可怜的女人感到难过，她受困苦未免太多了。

2.sorry表示因做了某事而后悔时，也用for。如：

There will come a day when you will be sorry for your conduct.总有一天你会对自己所作所为感到后悔的。

3.sorry表示因发生的事而难过（或惋惜）时，用about。如：

I am sorry about your misfortune.我对你的不幸感到难过。

4.sorry about的后面也可以接用一个指人的名词，但真实的意思是指关于那个人的一些事情，不指该人本身。如：

5.feel sorry for oneself沉溺于自怜自惜。如：
