《牛津英语用法指南》第三版451.9节指出：“在(in) this way, (in) the same way, (in) another way 等表达方式里，我们经常省略in（尤其是在非正式口语中）。They plant corn (in) the same way their ancestors used to 500 years ago. 他们种玉米的方式同500年前他们祖先一样。”

    当然，也可以不省略介词。例如：James Carter did everything he could to educate his children. In the same way they in turn put a high value on their own children's education. 詹姆斯.卡特尽其所能教育他的孩子。这些孩子对他们自己的孩子的教育也同样给予极大的重视。（摘自《牛津英语用法指南》第三版157.4）
