unprepared是walking的状语，在传统语法体系内，形容词可以作状语。与副词作状语不同的是，形容词作状语解释主语做某事时的状态，因而用形容词而不用副词。现代语法会认为是无动词分句作状语，还会认为是主语补足语。但你应该遵循的是传统语法，不要搞混了概念，就称它为形容词作状语。肯定不是复合谓语。
