know用于进行时态与现在分词

老师说know不能用于进行时态。如：
误：I’m knowing this girl.
正：I know this girl. 我认识这个女孩子。
误：I’m knowing that the match will be cancelled.
正：I know that the match will be cancelled. 我知道比赛将被取消。
但是，我发现knowing可以用现在分词。如：
Not knowing what to do, I went home. 不知道该做什么，我回家了。
She hesitated, not knowing what to say. 她犹豫了一下，不知说什么好。
Not knowing her address, I wasn’t able to contact her. 由于不知道她的地址，我没法和她联系。
请问：不能用于进行时态的动词可以用于现在分词吗？除know外，其他不能用于进行时态的动词也可以用于现在分词吗？谢谢！

这位网友有个误解，以为不能用于进行时态的动词就不能用于现在分词。其实不能用于进行时态的动词完全可以用于现在分词——因为现在分词有时并不表示“进行”意味。如：

Not liking mathematics, she gave it up. 她不喜欢数学，所以不学了。（《薄冰高级英语语法》）

Being so ill, he can’t go back to work yet. 他病得厉害，还不能回去工作。（《朗文英语语法》）

Knowing her tastes, I bought her a large box of chocolates. 我知道她的口味，给她买了一大盒巧克力。（《英语用法指南》第2版）

注意，这些句子若转化为从句，则不能用进行时态。如：

As he didn’t like mathematics, she gave it up. 她不喜欢数学，所以不学了。（不能说As I wasn’t liking…）

As he was so ill, he can’t go back to work yet. 他病得厉害，还不能回去工作。（不能说As I was being…）

As I knew her tastes, I bought her a large box of chocolates. 我知道她的口味，给她买了一大盒巧克力。（不能说As I was knowing…）

通常不用进行时态或表示某种特定含义时不用进行时态的动词称为非进行时态动词。see (看见)，have（有），know（知道；认识）等都是非进行时态动词。如果由于句型结构或句意需要，非进行时态动词的现在分词和动名词形式是可以使用的。常见的非进行时态动词有：
(1) 表示“思想和感情状态”的动词 believe, doubt, feel (=have an opinion),hate, imagine, know, (dis)like, love, prefer, realise, recognise, remember, see (=understand), suppose, think (=have an opinion), understand, want, wish 等。
(2) 表示“感官感觉”的动词 feel, hear, see, smell, sound, taste等。
(3) 表示“交流和引起反应”的动词 agree, appear, astonish, deny, disagree, impress, look (=seem), mean, please, promise, satisfy, seem, surprise等。
(4) 其他 be, belong, concern, consist, contain, depend, deserve, fit, include, involve, lack, matter, measure (=have length etc), need, owe, own, possess, weigh (=have weight)等。
