请教定语从句(涉及such...as)

John is not such a man ____ would kill anyone.

书上讲了个句型，有用到 such...as...选B是没错，但是我觉得选 C 用 who 也没错哇，如果用了 who 的话破坏了什么语法规则呢? 请教老师：）平安夜快乐嘻嘻嘻嘻嘻!

such…as…是固定搭配，不能换成 such…who / which / whom 等。换句话说，当先行词受到such修饰时，后面的定语从句只能用 as 来引导，不能用 who。又如：

He’s not such a fool as he looks. 他并不像看上去的那样愚蠢。

I never heard such stories as he tells. 我从未听过他讲的这种故事。

he is not half such a fool as they thought. 他远非他们认为的那么傻。

Such women as knew Tom thought he was charming. 那些认识汤姆的女人都认为他很迷人。

(当先行词被“such”修饰/限定时，只能由关系代词" as"来引导定语从句。）

解答如下：

(1)当as作关系代词引导定语从句时，在从句中充当主语、宾语、介词宾语或表语，既可以指人，也可以指物。

A:as 用作关系代词和关系副词引导限定性定语从句，并在从句中作宾语、表语和状语，构成the same…as, the ...way as ,such…as 等结构。

I like the same book as you do. （as 作宾语）

I shall do it in the same way as you did. （as 作状语）

I want to have such a dictionary as he has. （as 作宾语）

B:as 引导非限定性定语从句，在句中作主语、表语或宾语，这个定语从句是说明整个句子，可以放在主句之前。

As we all know, he studies very hard. (as 作宾语)

As is known to all, he is the best student in our class. （as 作主语）

(2)as引导定语从句时，用于这些结构：“the same …as”，“such …as”， “as…as”“so many （much, few, little）…as”，译作“像……一样的人（或物）”。这个结构中的关系代词只能时“as”引导定语从句，不能是其它关系代词引导定语从句。

He is not such a man as would leave his work half done.

他不是一个把工作只完成一半的人。

This is such an easy novel as you can read.
