同意张老师的看法，本句中 on 的用法与 from then on 中的 on 用法类似。

但对于 200 years on 的理解，我的看法与前面两位老师的看法稍有不同，200 years on 的意思感觉不是“随后的200年”或是“从现在起200年后”，而是指“200年后的今天”。即“一段时间+on”的意思是“一段时间以后的今天或现在”“经过一段时间后，现在……”。类似的用法如：

Ten years on, the original concept was wearing well. 十年过去了，最初的观念依然适用。

Twenty years on, his advice still holds good. 经过了二十年，他的建议依然适用。

Forty years on, the book’s power to shock is undiminished. 经过了四十年，这本书的震撼力丝毫未减。

Now, forty years on, this is one of the most successful theatres in the country. 四十年以后的今天，这家剧院成了国内最为成功的剧院之一。
