do you think既可接宾语从句也可用作插入语。
1.do you think后跟宾语从句时，只跟that引导的从句（that 常省略）。如：
Do you think (that) Jack is up to the job? 你认为杰克胜任这个工作吗？
2.若特殊疑问句的疑问词是主语，do you think便是疑问式插入语，可省略。如：
Who (do you think) is up to the job? （你认为）谁胜任这个工作？
▲ 若特殊疑问句的疑问词不是主语，在省去疑问式插入语do you think后，须调整特殊疑问句的语序。如：
Where do you think the meeting will be held? 你认为会议将在哪里举行？
→ Where will the meeting be held? 会议将在哪里举行？

do you think 为插入语，不是主句
以上句子结构，属于混杂疑问句，也叫混合疑问句
(1)特殊疑问词+(do you think /believe /expect /guess插入语结构) +陈述语序结构（即主语+谓语结构）
What 【插入语结构do you think】we can benefit if we keep reading this?
【参考译文】如果我们继续看这个，我们能获得什么好处呢？
(2)do you think that 从句中 引导宾语从句，do you think 为主句
例如：
Do you think that Tom can pass the exam?
