face用作及物动词时，之后不接that宾语从句。至多可以在宾语之后跟一个同位语从句，例如：

We have to face the fact that we have done wrong. 我们不得不面对这样的现实：我们已经做错了。

We must face the fact that we are short of water. 我们必须面对缺水这个事实。

She has to face the truth that learning foreign languages takes a long time. 她得面对事实，学习外语需要花很长的时间。

以上例句中的the fact或the truth是不能省略的。
