have a good time可用于被动语态吗?

在一本书上看到这样一句被动语态:

A good time was had by all the students who took part in it. 参加这项活动的学生都玩得很高兴。

觉得这里的have a good time 用于被动语态有点别扭,请问have a good time可以像这样用于被动语态吗?

1.事实上,正如《朗文当代英语大辞典》p801 所说的那样,a good time was had by all 是一个固定短语,最好不要看成被动语态。它的意思是 Everybody had a good time. 如:
Jill: How was the party?
Jane: A good time was had by all. After seeing the movie, the ten of us went out for ice cream, and a good time was had by all.
—from “McGraw-Hill Dictionary of American Idioms and Phrasal Verbs”
2. 与之意思相近的短语 / 成语为:good times by all
Dude 1: Hey dude, remember when the six of us got on that golf cart and we did a wheelie in front of Inn-N-Out Burger?
Dude 2: Yeah dude, that was hilarious. Good times had by all! Dude 1: Hell yeah!
--from “Urban Dictionary”

可以用于被动,在前不久回答了另外一个朋友有关足球作主语的问题,也是类似的。我把这个答案也贴给您,以便理解。

European football is played in 80 countries, making it the most popular sport in the world.

之所以football做主语,是在句子中强调football是整个句子的中心,用被动更能体现出句子的重点内容是football,相反,用主动语态表达,这种“强调功能”在语气上就弱了许多。但是,在翻译时最好还是用主动语态的形式翻译出来,更顺口、流畅。您之所以感到别扭,估计就是用被动的语气翻译的。再例:

被动语态可以突出或强调动作的承受者,如果需要说出动作的执行者,用by短语。

The time-table has been changed.

时间表已变动了。(强调的是的是“时间表”)

These books are written especially for children.

这些书是专门为孩子们写的。(强调的是“这些书”)

A good time was had by all the students who took part in it.

参加这项活动的学生都玩得很高兴。

您给的这个句子,用被动语态也是强调了“玩得高兴”,是说话人想表达的中心点,而用主动语态,这种语气就会减弱。这种用法是被动语态的主要用法之一。

请再看几个例句:

The bride and groom were so happy, and a good time was had by all.

新郎新娘幸福无比,大家都玩得很愉快。

The song was composed by a PLA fighter.

这首歌曲是一位解放军战士谱写的。

The lathe was designed by ourselves.

这个车床是我们自己设计的。

have a good time中的have 是静态动词,所以不能用于被动语态。例如:She was having a bath . 她那时正在洗澡 。( 但不能说 :A bath was being had by her . )(见《牛津英语用法指南》第三版 412.3)
