▲你说的“介词用的对么”，不知是指哪个介词？是 of factors 中的 of，还是 to a college or university 中的 to？我认为，前者 of 用对了，后者 to 用错了。表示“对......的选择”，在 choices 后用 of，不用 to。如“对大学的选择”是：choices of colleges or universities. 此外，colleges or universities 应该使用复数形式，因为这里被选择的事物一定是复数的，不是单数。把student’s 改为 students’。
He is cautious in his choice of words.  他措辞很谨慎。
The shop has a wide choice of hats. 那家商店出售各式各样的帽子。
The choice of players for the team seems completely arbitrary. 对队员的挑选似乎完全是主观决定的。
As a choice of vegetables, we have peas or corn. 我们有豌豆和玉米两种蔬菜供您选择。
I don't like his choice of friends. 我不喜欢他找的那类朋友。

▲“在......之间的选择”a choice between...，与“对......的选择”a choice of...是两个不同的概念。

这句话的含义不是在 colleges 和 universities 之间的选择。
