(1)There was only a vacant lot where her house used to be句中,where her house used to be 不是状语从句,而是定语从句,a vacant lot 是被修饰的先行词。很多学友认为是状语从句,我感觉可能是受诸如“ (2)Where there is a will, there is a way"这样句子的影响。 (3)There was only a vacant lot where he used to live.

It is difficult to say what is impossible for the deam of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. It 为形式主语,to say ----- tomorrow 为真正主语,在真主语中,what is impossible for the dream of yesterday 为名从作主语, is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow 为剩下的系表结构。 Isn't it difficult to say what is impossible for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow?

在The earliest we arrive there is about three days later. 1. The earliest when we arrive there is about three days later. 2. The earliest that we arrive there is about three days later. I dislike the way you speak to your mother=I dislike the way that you speak to your mother.

The team proposed (that) the project's cost and construction time line would be greatly reduced by packaging large pieces of the high-speed rail line together, and for delivery by a single contractor.

此处to help shape the state's strategy 中的shape 可理解成“优化,促进"之义.  后文的considered the most ambitious infrastructure project in the United States可改写为:which was considered the most ambitious infrastructure project in the United States.
