插入语和破折号
猴哥英语from DVDs to satellite communications to bar codes”不是插入语，只是这里有个逗号，是结构足够清晰，你把逗号去掉也不影响。破折号可以看做补充说明作用，可以看成状语，实质就是in any area.如果把破折号去掉也可以，不过要加in,不然不完整。

All 可以指代物质名词吗？如 All milk was sour.
All 可以指代物质名词，All wood tends to shrink.不过这里不是能不能指代milk而是用法，all of it was sour.

这里用现在分词diminishing还是应该用不定式to diminish
Winds will be southeasterly 10 to 15 miles per hour, diminishing at night.=Winds will be southeasterly 10 to 15 miles per hour, and will be diminishing at night.

when引导的到底是什么从句
看起来when为整个句子的状语，但是我说过我们要分析深层次的东西，外在可以多样，深层一定。补充为imagine that we were surpried when he walked into the room.继续完善，imagine that we were surpried the moment when he walked into the room.可见实质作定语。
