from是个比较特殊的介词，在表示具体地点的时候，表示“从某个地方”，介词from后面还要接介词短语来吧地点描述准确。比如吧，“从门后面”不能说from the door，而是from behind the door；“从床底下”是from under the bed而不是from the bed.与之呼应，如果where引导定语从句时前面有介词from，那么我们就应该用from where。不妨比较这两个句子：I stood before the desk, in which Henry hid some story books.我站在这张桌子前。亨利在桌子里面藏了几本小说。I stood before the desk, from where I could have a good view of the garden.我站在桌子前。从这里能看到花园的全景。
